CableFree: Huawei Achieves New Breakthroughs in Antenna Design for 5G

[Shenzhen, China, May 22, 2020]Huawei recently released a new technology for antennas CableFree. The new technology will enable base station antennas to significantly improve in multiple key capabilities, including integration, radiation efficiency, and power capacity. This marks a new stage of antenna development in the 5G era.

5G has seen more bands introduced and higher-order MIMO applied to mobile networks. This leads to an excessive increase in the internal complexity of multi-band antenna structure, placing antenna design under vast challenges in multiple areas. These include antenna performance, power capacity, reliability, and production efficiency. Huawei's CableFree technology breaks the bottleneck in current antenna design to substantially improve antenna performance and meet 5G construction requirements.

ZTE and China Mobile complete the verification of 5G Massive MIMO 1+X SSB solution

21 May 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, together with the Guangzhou branch of China Mobile, has completed the verification of the new three-dimensional coverage solution, 5G Massive MIMO 1+X SSB (Synchronization Signal and PBCH block) solution, in the central business district of Guangzhou, China.

The solution has greatly optimized the coverage performance of high-rise buildings and improved the vertical coverage rate by more than 30%. In addition, fewer beams transmission has significantly saved resource and reduced power consumption.

[ZTT] Birth of The World’s First 500kV XLPE Insulated AC Submarine Cable System

At ZTT Group 2020 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, the "Long Length 500kV Cross-linked Polyethylene Insulated Fiber Optic Composite Submarine Cable System (Including Soft Joint and Repair Joint)" of Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ZTT Submarine") was awarded with special prize. Xue Jiping-Chairman of ZTT, personally issued the bonus and certificate to the development team.

In 2007, ZTT submarine fiber optic cable products were initiatively certified with UJ and UQJ from international authoritative organizations; ZTT submarine cables were exported to the United States as representing top level of Chinese submarine cable manufacture in 2011; ZTT realized the "Three-Grade Leap" for the development of ultra-high voltage flexible DC cable system from ± 160kV to ± 200kV and ± 320kV from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, ZTT successfully developed the 500kV XLPE insulated AC submarine cable and system with the highest voltage and maximum length in the world. ZTT won the bid for German wind power Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Project; and ZTT ranked among globally Top 10 most competitive enterprises in 2018.

Hengtong boosting China's largest refining and chemical project

On March 18, 2020, Hengtong successfully completed the delivery test of the first submarine cable for the Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical 40 million tons/year refining and chemical integration project and delivered it on time. This hard-won achievement will providereliable power operation guarantee for the construction of the project.

The ZPC 40 million tons / year refining and chemical integration project is the largest refining and chemical project in China , with a total investment of 173.1 billion yuan. The 220kV ultra-high voltage submarine cable delivered by Hengtong adopts advanced armored manufacturing technology. The section of the submarine cable reaches 1600mm², which can not only greatly improve the carrying capacity of the cable and meet the power operation demand of the project, but also fully meet the requirements of large topographic fluctuation and complex laying environment in the sea area where the project is built.
